rejection.

I was going to type a whole story/rant for this, but the bottom line is that I was rejected once again after somewhat overcoming my fears(albeit with the help of a little liquid courage.) Continue the count-up.

Red Ring of Death

Xbox360 Red Ring of Death
Well, I thought I was 2/2 for Red Rings of Death. I had this rant all typed up, then Kade tweeted back that it was working again. I am going to go ahead and keep it though since it is still generally relevant. I also believe that it is probably a chilling vision of things to come, and the system destroying red ring problem will happen soon anyway.

Anyway, here is the rant:

You know, I hate to be a dick to a company that will take care of its problems, but seriously why is this even still happening? They have had 360s around for freaking years, and they have a fix for the problem yet they continue to make new systems with the SAME PROBLEM. I remember back in the day with my NES, hardly anything could break that system, let alone it breaking on its own. I suppose it could have something to do with the general lack of moving parts, but still. I remember the thing that finally killed my NES back in the day was when somehow Mountain Dew got spilled on and underneath it. It required me to basically dump water on it to kill it, and it was still repaired by Nintendo(for a fee of course). The freaking 360 just randomly decides to stab itself in the brain. Bah.

Ah well Kade still has his 360 we can hook up in the meantime, and I haven't been playing the 360 a ton lately anyway. For some reason I have been playing Oblivion like a maniac. I created an assassin archer-type person, and I just keep going around killing random people and stealing stuff. I tried making a good type of person, but I just couldn't get into it. Having to be nice in that game all the time is crazy annoying.

In other news, I am going to attempt to start doing more with my exercise and such very soon. I have been doing pushups, situps, and squats in the past few weeks - but I am going to try to start running a bit also. I tried about a month ago with Brandon, but I am just too out of shape to keep up with his marine-ness. I am going to try starting with a shorter run at about the same pace, and try to work my way up to being able to run/jog a mile without nearly dying from being out of breath. Anyway, here's hoping!

reCAPTCHA

Oh boy, how I needed to do this a long time ago. I have been getting deluged with spam recently, and it was starting to piss me off. I know I never update, but I still like having my site - but all the morons trying to spam was getting out of hand. I finally added the reCAPTCHA authentication to comments, so hopefully I won't have to deal with as many lame ass emails from now on. I turned it off for registered users, so the handful of people that read my blog won't have to deal with it. The cool thing is to even register it requires reCAPTCHA as well, so I am happy currently. I am also happy that I will be contributing minimally to transcribing books digitally. Go me!

Mobile Post

No, you aren't imagining things, and I am not that talented at Photoshop. This douchebag really is wearing his hat over his hoodie. Adding to the douchey-ness is the fact that the hat is tilted. Sigh.

Interesting.

I am fairly surprised. I must be getting more search page hits on something, because all of a sudden the other day, I got about 23 spam comments that I had to block. Comment moderation ftw!

In other news, I got WotLK the other day, and have been playing it alot. I got to 72 thus far, and the new areas are really interesting. Scott even started playing again, so he, Kade and I have been doing group quests and such together. I am really enjoying playing my warrior, but kinda feel bad that I left Aesa behind for the time being although playing a prot warrior is so much more fun than I remember. The new talents have made it much easier to tank than it used to be.

Not too much else going on, I got a blu-ray drive for my computer yesterday, but I am taking it back. I don't need one horribly right now, and $150 is too much to waste for something I won't use much. I was looking at the black friday deals that places are going to have, and Best Buy is going to have a LG blu-ray drive for only $99 though. I haven't decided yet, but I might just venture out to see what a black friday is like from a customer standpoint rather than a retail standpoint for once. I think it would be fairly interesting to observe, if for no other reason. The question is, will I forgo time I could be sleeping to get up early to go to a store for no real reason?

DA DA DUM... only time will tell.

Spoiler: Probably not.

You Spoony iPod!

Well, I got the replacement iPod screen today, and no, I wasn't lazy - it really did take 2 freaking weeks to get to me. Anyway the install was fairly easy... I followed the directions I found here and didn't run into any real problems. The hardest part was getting the thing open even with the tools they sent along with it. The inside of the iPod is actually fairly easy to move around in, but the clips that hold the cables in are REALLY tiny. Anyway, the install was a success, it worked after I finished and looks brighter than an original screen actually. As promised, here is a before and after comparison:

Secret Project

It begins tomorrow, wish me luck.

BTW, don't bother asking what it is. I am just chronicling this for future reference.
