No, you aren't imagining things, and I am not that talented at Photoshop. This douchebag really is wearing his hat over his hoodie. Adding to the douchey-ness is the fact that the hat is tilted. Sigh.

Interesting.

I am fairly surprised. I must be getting more search page hits on something, because all of a sudden the other day, I got about 23 spam comments that I had to block. Comment moderation ftw!

In other news, I got WotLK the other day, and have been playing it alot. I got to 72 thus far, and the new areas are really interesting. Scott even started playing again, so he, Kade and I have been doing group quests and such together. I am really enjoying playing my warrior, but kinda feel bad that I left Aesa behind for the time being although playing a prot warrior is so much more fun than I remember. The new talents have made it much easier to tank than it used to be.

Not too much else going on, I got a blu-ray drive for my computer yesterday, but I am taking it back. I don't need one horribly right now, and $150 is too much to waste for something I won't use much. I was looking at the black friday deals that places are going to have, and Best Buy is going to have a LG blu-ray drive for only $99 though. I haven't decided yet, but I might just venture out to see what a black friday is like from a customer standpoint rather than a retail standpoint for once. I think it would be fairly interesting to observe, if for no other reason. The question is, will I forgo time I could be sleeping to get up early to go to a store for no real reason?

DA DA DUM... only time will tell.

Spoiler: Probably not.

You Spoony iPod!

Well, I got the replacement iPod screen today, and no, I wasn't lazy - it really did take 2 freaking weeks to get to me. Anyway the install was fairly easy... I followed the directions I found here and didn't run into any real problems. The hardest part was getting the thing open even with the tools they sent along with it. The inside of the iPod is actually fairly easy to move around in, but the clips that hold the cables in are REALLY tiny. Anyway, the install was a success, it worked after I finished and looks brighter than an original screen actually. As promised, here is a before and after comparison:

Secret Project

It begins tomorrow, wish me luck.

BTW, don't bother asking what it is. I am just chronicling this for future reference.

Mega Man 9

Holy crap, I just bought Mega Man 9 for the Wii, and it is pretty damned awesome. They really went old school with it, it plays pretty much exactly like Mega Man 2, except you have Rush instead of the 1, 2, and 3 generic items. I don't have any problems with it so far, and it has really brought my old twitch playing skills out. I have died so many times it is fairly ridiculous.

One really nice thing is the challenges you can complete (basically achievements like the 360), but some of them are flat out nuts, for example:
*09. Mr. Perfect*
Description: Clear the game without getting damaged.
Completed: When you beat the game.

I mean, really... complete the entire game, Wily stages and all, WITHOUT getting damaged?! Seriously, I used to be pretty damned good at Mega Man 2, but not getting damaged at all is pretty fucking crazy. Eh, still interesting that they even have that challenge. I don't plan on going too hardcore into the challenges on the Wii, since the achievements don't really mean much. I do plan on getting the 360 version as soon as my system gets back from repair, regardless of how sad it is that I bought the Wii version just because I couldn't wait about 2 weeks to get my 360 back.

Spoon + iPod = Bad.

So I was looking around through my stuff today for my umbrella, because I was worried it might rain today, and I found Kade's old iPod with its cracked screen. I have been reading about this cool open source firmware for old mp3 players that I wanted to try out called Rockbox, so I decided to find out how much a new screen would cost. I was fairly amazed that the replacement kit only runs about $49.99 usually, but it was on sale for only $26.99 at the moment, and even included a non-spoon based tool for opening the iPod.

Anyway, I decided to order it and am quite looking forward to ripping open an iPod to take a look at the guts. Here is a before pic, I will post an after pic when I am finished.

How to catch a mouse without a mousetrap

I saw this while stumbling, and I thought it sounded fairly ingenious. :p

gallery added.

Well, I have been playing more, and stumbled around enough to create an image gallery part of my site. It is very barren at the moment, but Jer gets to be my current placeholder image. Yes, I grabbed the gallery app from looking at Ian's site, but it is quite nice and user friendly so I am using it. Go me!

Working some more.

Okay, well I have set up the ability to post from my phone (I think), but the only problem is the iPhone doesn't allow MMS. I would really like to post randomly about things I see on a daily basis, but I will not be able to take pictures and send them easily. I am hoping Apple + AT&T will get off their asses and give the iPhone some MMS love very soon. It really makes no sense that a phone that is as media-capable as it is doesn't have MMS. Meh, anyway, I am still playing around with this whole thing, but I really quite enjoy having my own domain!
